It's damn difficult to get a Presidential pardon. Emmy-winning soap actress Martha Byrne worked tirelessly to get one for her husband, former NYPD detective Michael McMahon. Their story has all the makings of a Netflix drama. Martha and Michael tell Michele how the FBI falsely accused McMahon of coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party. A judge sentenced McMahon to Federal prison, and the details are astounding.

Congressman John James is the living embodiment of the American Dream. But as a conservative, he gets more pushback from people who "look like him" than from anyone else. His resume is beyond impressive, he's a proven leader, and he is vying for the Governor's mansion in Michigan. What's not to like?

The FBI has deployed additional investigators and resources to Minnesota as part of an expanded federal fraud probe, FBI Director Kash Patel said.
Federal officials indicate the investigations focus on the alleged misuse of millions of taxpayer dollars intended for social services. Reports have emerged of public funds being directed to inactive daycare facilities, raising concerns about potential fraud.
The investigations have largely targeted Minnesota’s Somali community, prompting criticism from immigrant-rights advocates who say the probes unfairly single out the group. Federal prosecutors and state officials have reportedly clashed over how the cases are being handled.
The Trump administration has cited the investigations in broader criticism of state oversight and calls for increased accountability in federal spending.
California has dropped its lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s decision to cancel more than $4 billion in federal funding for the state’s high-speed rail project.
Federal officials have said the project has been plagued by delays, cost overruns, and unrealistic ridership projections, raising concerns about the viability of the rail line connecting Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The California High-Speed Rail Authority said it plans to move forward without federal funding, citing that only 18% of the program’s expenditures came from federal sources. The agency also noted that state legislation secures $1 billion annually for the project through 2045.
The Transportation Department emphasized that redirecting federal funds to more practical projects will benefit rail passengers, local drivers, and pedestrians nationwide.
There are signs of progress toward ending Russia’s war in Ukraine following President Donald Trump’s weekend meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The two leaders met at Trump’s Florida resort to discuss a proposed peace plan, which includes
U.S. security guarantees for Ukraine. Trump said that Ukraine and Russia are “closer than ever before” to a settlement, though negotiators are still working through key issues, including territorial withdrawals and the future of the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
Zelenskyy expressed a desire for longer-term U.S. security commitments, ideally up to 50 years, to deter future Russian aggression. Details of the guarantees have not been made public, but they are expected to include monitoring mechanisms and an international presence.
Kyiv’s allies plan to meet in Paris in early January to finalize each country’s contributions to the security guarantees. A full peace deal would also require a ceasefire of at least 60 days before Ukraine could hold a national referendum to approve the plan.
The United States is committing $2 billion in humanitarian aid to the United Nations, emphasizing a more accountable and strategic approach to foreign assistance.
Officials say the funding prioritizes efficiency and reforms while ensuring that the U.S. remains the world’s leading humanitarian donor. The announcement comes as many U.N. agencies face significant pressure to streamline operations and reduce spending in the wake of funding cuts from the U.S. and other Western nations.
The aid will be distributed through an umbrella fund to support a range of humanitarian programs, reflecting the administration’s goal of maintaining global leadership in humanitarian efforts while promoting fiscal responsibility.
President Donald Trump is set to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida as the U.S.-backed ceasefire in Gaza enters a critical stage.
The truce, which began in October, has largely held, but progress has slowed in recent weeks. Negotiators are now focusing on a more complicated second phase, which would involve rebuilding Gaza under international supervision, establishing a security force, and moving toward broader normalization between Israel and Arab nations.
Trump hopes to leverage his relationship with Netanyahu to help speed up the peace process and maintain momentum in the negotiations.
In this conversation, Carl discusses the significance of good journalism, emphasizing the need for objectivity and balance in news reporting. He critiques the current state of journalism, particularly at CBS, and highlights Barry Weiss's efforts to uphold journalistic integrity by pulling a controversial 60 Minutes story about illegal aliens. Jackson argues that biased reporting undermines civility and intellectualism in society, advocating for a return to factual reporting that allows viewers to form their own opinions.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that he will meet on Sunday with U.S. President Donald Trump in Florida. Zelenskyy told journalists on Friday that the two leaders will discuss security guarantees for Ukraine during Sunday’s talks, and that the 20-point plan under discussion “is about 90% ready.”
The announced meeting is the latest development in an extensive U.S.-led diplomatic push to end the nearly four-year Russia-Ukraine war. But efforts have run into sharply conflicting demands by Moscow and Kyiv.
