President Trump has changed his tone about Colombia’s leader in the matter of days. Last weekend, Donald Trump threatened Colombia after ousting Venezuela’s leader and accused Gustavo Petro of “making cocaine and selling it to the United States.” But on Wednesday, the president said that the two had exchanged a friendly phone call and he had invited the leader of the South American country to visit the White House.
U.S. transportation officials say California will lose $160 million for delaying the revocations of 17,000 commercial driver’s licenses for immigrants. The state notified those drivers in the fall that they would lose their licenses after a federal audit found problems, including licenses for truckers and bus drivers that remained valid long visas' expirations. But then last week California said it would delay until March after immigrant groups sued over concerns that some groups were unfairly targeted. The state DMV said California officials believed the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration was open to the delay while it completed its review. But federal agency told the state Wednesday that it never agreed to postpone the revocations.

Josh opens the show by breaking down the shooting in Minneapolis, where an ICE agent shot a "queer activist" during an enforcement operation. He explains why the country is once again at a tipping point—and why Minnesota’s leaders helped create the very conditions now exploding around them. Josh also calls out the escalating attacks on ICE nationwide and makes the case for why they must end.
He’s then joined by Richard Goldberg, Senior Advisor for Foundation for Defense of Democracies, to dig into the next steps for Venezuela and the broader message the administration is sending around the world. They also discuss the future of Venezuela’s oil resources and the high-stakes protests in Iran—along with what those protests mean for the stability of the Iranian regime.
The GOP-led Senate has voted to advance a resolution that would limit President Trump’s ability to conduct further attacks against Venezuela. Five Republican senators joined Democrats to back war powers legislation that would force the president to seek approval from Congress before directing new military operations in Venezuela. The bipartisan vote came less than a week after the U.S. raid to capture Nicolas Maduro. The test vote ensures a later vote for final passage. But it’s unlikely to become law because Donald Trump would have to sign it if it were to pass the House.

Police are searching for the suspect responsible for a shooting outside a Mormon church in Salt Lake City that left two people dead and six others injured.
The gunfire erupted Wednesday in the parking lot of a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building while dozens of people were attending a funeral inside. Authorities say all victims were adults and that the attack does not appear to be targeting any religion.
Police also indicated that the shooting does not seem to have been random. No suspects are currently in custody. In the aftermath, about 100 law enforcement vehicles were on the scene, and helicopters monitored the area.
The Trump administration is moving to withdraw the United States from dozens of international organizations, signaling a further retreat from global cooperation.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing the U.S. to leave 66 international bodies, including the United Nations’ population agency and a key U.N. treaty that governs international climate negotiations.
The order follows a comprehensive review of U.S. participation and funding for global organizations, many of which the administration says promote initiatives it considers politically biased, including diversity, labor, and climate-related programs.
Officials said the withdrawals reflect the administration’s focus on prioritizing American interests in global affairs.
An 18-year-old Wisconsin man accused of killing his parents and using their money to fund a plot to assassinate President Donald Trump is expected to enter a plea deal Thursday.
Nikita Casap faces multiple charges, including two counts of homicide, theft, and concealing a corpse. Prosecutors say he shot his mother, Tatiana Casap, and his stepfather, Donald Mayer, at their Waukesha home in February, then stole cash, jewelry, passports, firearms, and the family dog before fleeing the state.
Federal authorities allege Casap carried out the murders to obtain the financial means to attack Trump and the U.S. government. Court records show he purchased explosives and a drone and discussed his plans with others, including a Russian-speaking individual. Casap was arrested in Kansas on Feb. 28 after a nationwide search.
Terms of the plea agreement have not been made public. A trial had been scheduled to begin March 2.
The woman shot and killed Tuesday by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis has been identified as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Macklin Good. Federal authorities said the shooting was an act of self-defense after Good allegedly tried to drive her SUV into the agents.
President Donald Trump commented on the incident, saying on social media that “the reason these incidents are happening… is because the radical left… is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our ICE agents.”
The shooting has sparked outrage in Minneapolis, with the city’s governor calling for calm and local schools canceling activities Wednesday and Thursday as a safety precaution. Mayor Jacob Frey dismissed the federal characterization of the shooting as “garbage,” and state and local officials have demanded ICE leave the state.
Federal authorities maintain the agent acted in self-defense, and investigations are ongoing.

Federal health officials have released the 2025–2030 U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans, calling on people to cut back on highly processed foods and added sugars while eating more whole foods and protein.
The guidelines, updated every five years as required by law, also advise limiting saturated fats and avoiding prepared or packaged foods that are heavily processed.
“These recommendations provide the foundation for federal nutrition programs and policies, helping Americans make healthier food choices,” officials said.
Research shows that most Americans currently fall short of following the dietary guidance, which aims to promote long-term health and reduce the risk of diet-related diseases.
