Saturday Night Live.

Alec Baldwin, who has helped improve the Saturday Night Live ratings over the last few months, may soon be leaving his role of President Donald Trump behind. The actor has earned rave reviews from the media for his Trump impression but he might be giving up that role at the end of this season.

In early March, the actor said in an interview with the show Extra that despite winning the presidential election, Trump remains "bitter" and "angry." He noted that "the maliciousness of this White House has people very worried, which is why I might not do it much longer."

That might mean that Baldwin will stop his appearances at the end of this season. In a recent interview with the British Press Association, the actor noted that after the current season, "I don’t quite know if people want to continue with [the impression[. If everything stays the same in this country as it is now, I don’t think people will be in the mood to laugh about it come September."

There are only five episodes of the current season left with the season finale set to air May 20th hosted by Dwayne Johnson.
