When you look at what the Bible says about alcohol, even how the Bible uses the idea of wine, it oftentimes is shown in a positive light and connected to joy and celebration. Scripture always gives very clear guidelines against drunkenness. Alcohol can be a controlling substance; we are not called to be controlled by anything other than the Spirit of God.
